Terri McLaughlin says
Dear Don Mac Family; I was so sad to hear about Don’s passing. My heart and prayers go out to all of you. I worked with Don at DNRC for years, met him in the early 70’s. He could be quite a character at times. Hoping great memories comfort you.
John Armstrong says
So very sorry to hear about your loss. Don was a great man and fun friend. The Armstrong’s are all saddened.
Molly Croft says
The MacIntyres were our neighbors growing up. Don was always warm and inclusive. His work with sports around Helena wasn’t only impressive-it’s hard to imagine how he fit it all in. Warmest memories of Don and may peace be with you Kris, Kelsi, Ben, and Shane.
Diane M Langenfus says
Kris and family, please accept our deepest condolences. Don’s commitment to sports in Helena was commendable. May He Rest in Peace.
Jeffrey Tiberi says
I met Don in the 90’s when he refereed basketball. Getting assigned to work with him was a treat. He knew everything and helped all the new referees. Years later we shared an office for about ten years. He had a long and stellar career that included serving seven governors. Don’s dedication to the people of Montana and the natural resources of Montana are unmatched contributions that helped to make our home a treasured place to live. His friendliness, demeanor, charm, and keen mind are remembered by many in the Montana Conservation Districts community. He served the districts nobly for many years, always ready to help and full of enthusiasm and positivism that showed the way through sometimes trying times.
He had many highlights in his career. The one I might have liked the most was his construction and placement of what looked like a lemon aide stand he set up at several statewide conventions. But he called it Legalaid, and yes, people stopped by for legal advice. Very clever!
There are lots of fond memories of Don all across the State of Montana. RIP, my friend.
Sue Clark says
I worked with Don for many years at DNRC. He was always beaming when his son played football many years ago for the Griz – he was extremely excited about Shane’s achievements and the upcoming game outcomes so that he could tell more stories. We had many fun conversations and we got a lot of great work done at DNRC too. He was always a pleasure and clearly knew his business inside and out. I’m sorry for your loss, he truly was a great man.
Bob Sullivan says
Kris and family, I extend my deepest condolences. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He was a wonderful man and mentored me in many ways. Being both Butte guys, we got along great and spoke the same language. It was great working with him in the State Bar. My thought, prayers and blessings to you. He will be missed.
Carol J Smith says
There was no one else like Don MacIntyre! The imprint of his talents on all things Montana is unmatched. The legal profession, Montana State Government, BASKETBALL! His humor was one of his most endearing qualities. And he was just a darn nice guy! Don and Kris grew an amazing family. And it looks as though his send off/remembrance events will be in true MacIntyre fashion! Kris, kids, grandkids, extended family, close friends……our hearts are with you as you honor Don, and the indelible mark he made on this world.
