Cheryl Anne (McDonald) Huppert passed away on April 25, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on March 31, 1959, in Cottonwood, Arizona, where she spent her childhood before moving to California, where she met her husband, Rob, who preceded her in death.
Cheryl eventually made her home in Hamilton, Montana, where she spent the last 25 years raising her children, building friendships, and embracing all that Montana has to offer. She worked as an accountant for much of her career, bringing dedication and reliability to her work, but it was her vibrant personality and the way she connected with people that truly defined her.
Known for her feisty spirit and strong will, Cheryl lived life with enthusiasm and humor. She found joy on the tennis court, hiking, fishing, and sharing a good glass of wine or a gin and tonic with those she loved. She was also a devoted fan of University of Arizona men’s basketball and rarely missed a chance to cheer on her team.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Anna McDonald, and her loving husband, Robert Huppert. She is survived by her children, Stephanie Huppert (Tim Jaramillo), Robert “Bob” Huppert (Anna Huppert), and Erica Kain (Rory Kain); and her granddaughter, Paisley Huppert. She is also survived by her five older siblings—Robert, Donald, Fred, Richard, and Susan—as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Cheryl will be remembered for her strength, resilience, and the energy she brought into every room. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in the family she raised and the friendships she cherished.
