Rachel Ellen Zimmer passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2026, at the age of only 24. She was taken from all of us way too early, our lives will never be the same.
Rachel was born July 14, 2001, in Helena, MT to Jared & Heather Zimmer completing our cute little family. We now have a boy and a girl. It was perfect!
She was the little sister to Wyatt her big brother who she called “Bubba” or bellowing “WYEEETTT” through the house. Those two were thick as thieves! They were either always hugging or fighting but no love was as fierce as Wyatt & Rachel’s for each other.
She grew up just outside of East Helena & was an East Helena kid all through school until High School. She graduated from Helena High in 2019.
Rachel…Well what can you say about our dear daughter where do we start…. her love for all animals (she has had quite a few). Her amazing & contagious bellowing laugh. Her stunning brown/hazel eyes that sparkled whether happy or sad. Her curly hair that she always straightened or worn up. Her HUGS..they were amazing & the complete love for all her family & friends. She would be there for anyone at any time when they needed help & she did. She was a redneck tomboy girlie girl that loved camping, motorcycle riding, big bonfires with friends & family, floating the river, jumping off cliff, singing karaoke & so many others.
That one she was our wild child….
She was so happy when she got a new tattoo & loved her piercings, but she was classy & they were HER.. Beautiful!! Although she would hide the tattoos from her Grandpa Carl.
She was preceded in death by her Grandma Teresa Nordberg who is now holding her hand in heaven.
Rachel is survived by her mom & dad: Jared & Heather Zimmer, brother: Wyatt Zimmer, Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles & lots of cousins. Plus, all the many many friends that were more-they were absolutely family too.
Our hearts are broken. Fly baby girl fly.
Oh yeah- Rachel you and Jordan behave in heaven. If you don’t, make sure to include your Grandma Teresa. Until we can feel your amazing hugs again you will be missed with every day & every moment. Goodbye my love.

Rachel was a beautiful person and hilarious. I remember sitting next to her everyday during her freshman year hearing her complain “I sound like a whale” when she sang in class and reassuring her she didn’t. In that class she was my partner in crime. And she was the first person I’d visit in class after I graduated (I was a few grades above her). Keep singing and keep shining in Heaven, Rachel! I love you! See you at your final party on Earth! (Sorry if this posts multiple times, my browser was interrupted during loading)

She had a beautiful soul with a gypsy free spirit that matched mine. I moved here 4 years ago and have been surrounding myself with not tons of friends but quite a few just downright good ones. And she was one of them. You are right about her hugs. The minute I ever ran into her, it was immediately open arms and loved loved loved her squeeze. I always told her if I was thirty years younger, I’d be throwing rocks at her window and trying to make her fall in love with me. I may not know you, her family very well, but I hope you know that lovely girl left an impression that is going to last the rest of alot of people’s lifetime.

Dear Heather, Jared, and Wyatt,
I don’t know what else to say besides I’m so sorry. Our whole family is devastated, and we miss her so much already. She was like a gypsy, living life life to the fullest, and just a bright star for us all.
Life will never be the same again for anyone that knew and loved her, but I know she will be looking out for and with her loved ones all the time.
Please accept my sincere condolences and love to her family and many other friends.
Rachel, you were truly one of of kind. We love you!

I really only know you through Theresa as she was my aunt. She had a loving and giving soul and was so good to Tracie back in the day. My heart goes out to you all. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
