Bob Stringer, a devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, in Helena, Montana following a courageous and long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 73 years old.
Born in Dallas, Texas, Bob found his way to Little Rock, Arkansas, where a chance meeting led him to the love of his life, Peggy. The two were inseparable from the start, embarking on a journey that spanned 47 years of marriage built on unwavering devotion and partnership.
Bob got degrees from the University of Arkansas and the University of Missouri in chemistry and electrical engineering. He worked in computer science during the dawn of the internet before retiring in 2011, after 15 years working at Mountain Pacific Quality Health.
An avid hiker, Bob enjoyed spending time in nature with his family. He supported those he loved with passion and pride. He was a regular at Peggy’s races, her most devoted fan, cheering her across every finish line.
In addition to supporting his wife, Bob was also a steady presence and a source of strength for his children, Jay and Jessica. He provided the foundation on which his kids thrived, both getting advanced degrees from Duke.
Bob will be deeply missed by his children, Jay & Jessica, his grandchildren, Skye & Logan, his brothers, Randy & Joe, and his doting wife Peggy. He spent his final moments as he lived—surrounded by the family that meant everything to him.
