Justin had just shot a large bull elk while hunting in his beloved mountains above Jefferson City MT, when his heart stopped beating.

Justin was born to Kermit and Luane Jones in Helena, Montana and grew up in Jefferson City, Montana. His childhood was full of adventure with his four siblings, exploring the mountains, fishing, hunting, swimming, causing havoc and developing into the incredible people they have become. He was an athlete, winning a state wrestling title many times as a child and ending his high school career with a Montana State Championship at 171 in 1998. He had the opportunity to travel to Germany to wrestle and had many great stories of his time there. He loved football as well, but wrestling was his passion.

Justin met the love of his life and soul mate, Jessica, in high school. Jessica and Justin were married in 2002 and together created three amazing children. They planned to show the world that love truly does conquer all. Their time was cut short, but the love they shared will live on forever. Together they traveled whenever possible, laughed until it hurt and made crazy plans. A love like theirs is not commonly found, they were lucky and they knew it. Phone conversations always ended with I love you, including their last. The last words spoken to each other were “I love you.”

Justin was his children’s biggest cheerleader. Watching Grace play basketball, softball and soccer, Braeden wrestle and play football, and Shae, still so young played soccer this last fall. He taught them that participation in life is a requirement, you get nowhere by sitting on the sidelines and to try their absolute best at everything and never give up. They will miss his songs and funny dances he used to wake them up in the mornings. His life lectures and strict rules that always made sense later and his hugs, his hugs, that overwhelmed and comforted beyond words. He was a father that was there for everything, without question one of the best.

Justin only had 32 years here on earth but he LIVED those 32 years to the absolute fullest. He was an avid outdoorsman, his wife joked that he was truly born 100 years too late. Hunting big game as well as birds was an obsession. His hunting partners used to joke that they prayed for darkness so they could go home as Justin would send them on forced marches chasing that dream bull. He was one of the only men that could wear out his German Shorthair and Lab to the point they wanted to go home before he was ready. When he wasn’t hunting, he was fishing, four wheeling, camping, or scouting, with his family in tow learning from the master.

He coached at the East Helena Wrestling Club, where he wrestled as a child. His time spent on the mat teaching his skills will be cherished by many, but most of all, his son. He coached flag football this past fall and looked forward to doing it again.

Justin owned Custom Construction, and built beautiful homes for many people. Zane Wells and Justin worked like a well-oiled machine building homes, condos and remodels. He was a perfectionist and took great pride in what he did earning him respect from all who knew him. He was a teacher at heart and enjoyed sharing his trade and the knowledge he had acquired. He was an incredibly skilled and talented man that could turn anything into a true work of art.

Everyone that met Justin was his friend. If you needed help, he was first in line and last to leave. His smile was contagious and his passion for life infectious. If we can learn anything from this tragic and untimely loss, smile whenever possible, laugh out loud, dance like nobody is watching and love like tomorrow may not come as it is not guaranteed. Hold your loved ones close and tell them every day how much they mean to you.

Justin leaves behind his devoted wife, Jessica (Adelblue) Jones; his three children, Grace (9), Braeden (7) and Shaelynn (4); parents, Kermit and Luane (Shorten) Jones; parents-in-law, David and Betsy (Buckingham) Riley, and Kevin Adelblue; siblings, Jason Jones, Laci (Wes) Dess, Lori Jones, Kim (Bob) Richardson and Josh Adelblue; nieces and nephews, Taylor, Averie, Hannah, Emily, Molly, Jesse, Lane, Morgan, Carson, Aiden, Jayzic and Tavyn; grandparents, Jerry and Donna Adelblue and Jean Buckingham; aunts and uncles, Dave Shorten, Maxine (Jack) Crider, Fran Hardy, Ken (Barb) Adelblue, Patti Buckingham (Greg Hahn) and Harry Buckingham; as well as numerous extended family, cousins and friends that were considered family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse and Hazel Jones, Duane and Edith Shorten and Richard Buckingham, Uncle, Gary Shorten, Aunt Kathy Bogard and cousin, Casey Shorten.

His wife would like to thank Ted and Julie Kresge, Lance Kresge, Tina and Steve Bartel and David Riley for everything they did on that mountain to try and bring him back.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial account has been set up for Justin’s children at any branch of Valley Bank of Helena. Refer to Justin Jones’ Children Memorial fund.

Visitation hours will begin Friday morning December 2nd with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Avenue. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec 3rd at First Assembly of God Church, 2210 Dodge Avenue. A reception will then be held in the Gymnasium of the church following the service. A private burial with family and clergy will be at Jefferson City Cemetery.

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Justin, you have succeeded! Until we meet again, you will live on in our hearts forever. The hearts you touched, the lives you changed and the gifts you gave were priceless. Gone but NEVER forgotten.

Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.aswfuneralhome.com

["GET
