She was their only daughter and she had 6 brothers. <\/p>\n<p>Etta Mae\u2019s early schooling was in North Dakota. She attended college at Montana State University in Bozeman where she graduated with a BS in Nursing. She graduated with a master\u2019s degree in nursing from the University of Minnesota. <\/p>\n<p>Etta Mae worked for many years as Chief of Nursing for the Veteran\u2019s Hospitals. She worked at Veteran\u2019s Hospitals in Sioux Falls, Boise, Fargo, Miles City and Helena. She worked at Fort Harrison for many years retiring in 1987. <\/p>\n<p>Mae was a devoted member of First Lutheran Church for many years. She was involved in visiting the sick, Senior Companions, Altrusa, Women\u2019s Club, Retired Federal Workers and her Red Hat Club. She was also a member of a busy Craft Group that met monthly for many years. She also volunteered at St. Peter\u2019s Hospital, Neighborhood Center and at the mall doing blood pressure checks. She volunteered with the Alzheimer\u2019s Association. She loved helping with any church project. <\/p>\n<p>Etta Mae loved her family passionately. Each moment spent with family and friends was very precious to her. She adored her brothers and they loved doting on her. <\/p>\n<p>She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Donald, Edwin, James, and Gil. She is survived by her brother\u2019s Walter, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Lowell and his wife, Pat, in Kent, Washington. Etta Mae was a beloved aunt to 22 nieces and nephews, and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. <\/p>\n<p>Memorial services for Etta Mae will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at First Lutheran Church with a reception to follow. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be interred with her parents in Beach, North Dakota. Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
