She married Palmer Scott in 1952 and had five wonderful children. They moved from Dillon to Helena in 1962 and were married for twenty-one years. She later married Bob Raundal in April, 1991 and was married for four years. <\/p>\n<p>Darlene participated in two Montana legislative sessions in 1963 and 1965. She was also a secretary at Broadwater and Smith school and Title 1 Aide at Hawthorne elementary school. She worked for the Montana Education Association from 1972 until her retirement in 1991. Then in 1999, Darlene worked for the State Auditor&#8217;s office and retired in April of 2010. <\/p>\n<p>Darlene was a charter member of the Helena Sons of Norway since 1972 and held the offices of editor and social director. She served on the district board from 1990 to 1992 including one term as district officer. She was also active in United Way and Habitat for Humanity and was a chaplain and marshal for the Miriam Chapter No.1, Order of the Eastern Star. <\/p>\n<p>Darlene enjoyed time with her family and friends and was always available to help in any way. She was dedicated to making the holidays truly special and rarely missed an event, including live band performances put on by her sons. She was their greatest fan. Darlene loved to dance, enjoyed golfing and had a strong work ethic that was an example for everyone to follow. <\/p>\n<p>Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sofie, her brothers, Walter, Lyle, Johnny, George, Roger and her twin, Douglas, and her sister, Dorothy. Darlene is survived by her five children: Mars Scott (Elaine) of Missoula, Sonja Scott of Helena, Kirk Scott of East Helena, Pamela Scott (Jesse Whitford) of Clancy, Garth Scott (Michelle) of Helena, her brother Julian (Pat) of Sacramento, CA, as well as nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. <\/p>\n<p>A remembrance service will be held in Darlene&#8217;s honor on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., October 26th, 2010 at Anderson Stevenson and Wilke Funeral Home, 650 Logan St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27th, at Anderson, Stevenson and Wilke Chapel. A reception will follow at Green Meadow Country Club. The burial service will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery at 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor&#8217;s choice.
