Tommy was the first son, and third of seven children. He spent most of his life living in Helena.

Tom had a once in a lifetime personality, gracing anyone who came into contact with him. His sense of humor, intelligence, and sheer cleverness, could brighten the darkest of rooms.

He attended public schools in East Helena, and Helena. He received his GED from the National Guard Youth Challenge program. A few years after receiving his GED, Tom enlisted in the Army, where he was a member of the Airborne unit. He was honorably discharged.

In his younger years, Tommy spent many years playing Babe Ruth baseball. He was also an avid fisherman. However, fisherman would not be an accurate description. He was more of a magician, able to pull in his catch within seconds of his cast. Tommy would most often frustrate his fellow fisherman, embarrassing them with every catch.

After his time in the Army, Tommy spent a few summers working at fish canneries, in Ketchikan, AK. He also traveled the country, painting water tanks.

Tommy is survived by his parents, and his siblings Jessamine, Lanie, Ellie, Amy, Taylor, and Tyson Plovanich. His Grandparents Agnes Palmer, Pal and Kate Palmer, and Lorraine McKnight.

“Uncle Tommy will be dearly missed by nieces Ariana, Makayla, and Ilona and nephew Joshie as well as many extended family members, too numerous to list, that had an influence on Tom’s life and he on theirs.”

Tommy was a shining star in the lives of his loved ones. Through many ups, and downs, he was a catalyst for his family, bringing endless amounts of happiness. Above it all, he was our wild, crazy, friendly, and charming guy. His spirit will remain, watching our every step. Our love for him will never waiver. Thanks for the ride. Until we meet again, big guy.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, August 20, 2010 at St. Ann’s Cemetery in East Helena.

["GET
