He passed away at his home in Helena, Montana, due to natural causes.

John David Coppick was born on August 2, 1964 in the town of San Bernardino, California. He was the oldest of two children born to Marcia and John D. Coppick. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcia Lou Coppick (Meade), his father, John D. Coppick, and his sister, Dawn Marie Coppick. They can all be together again once more.

John grew up in California and Oklahoma. He was a typical boy during that time. He and his family would go fishing a lot when they lived in Oklahoma and John would always say more about how they were always dodging Water Moccasins instead of fishing. When he was an adult he married his first wife and had his first son, Chris Coppick, which unfortunately ended in divorce. Eventually he married his second wife, Kim, and had his second son, Joseph Coppick in 1992. A few months after Joseph was born John and Kim moved to Montana to raise Joseph in a better environment. In 1993 John welcomed his third son into the world, Nicholas Coppick. In 2001 John and Kim got a divorce, and while that was a dark time for him he always stayed close to his family and was a constant presence in his sons’ lives. Family was extremely important to John. “All I want in life is a family and children” is one thing he said about family. It was so important to him that even when his sons moved across the country and back he followed them the entire way.

John was a dreamer. He was always switching careers and could never settle on just one thing. He was a manager of various industries, he was a driver, he was a security guard just to name a few, but there were many more. He was a former Free Mason and a member of the SCA. One story that perfectly describes how John was a dreamer is that he bought a sailboat with the plan to go to New York to grab it, fix it up and sail the entire coastline of the United States from New York to Oregon, passing through the Panama Canal. And while that dream never came to fruition, he was always dreaming about the next thing and never lost that part of himself. He had a lot of interests but most nights you could find him living out one of his many dreams in one of the video games he was so passionate about.

Later in his life John spent a lot of time taking care of his father, John D. Coppick. After his father passed peacefully at their home, John seemed to come out of his shell. John was able to start feeling able to express his true self more freely. He was able to start living more authentically and was happier than he had been in a very long time. Whereas, for most of his life he had struggled to find his true self and find the happiness he was always chasing. Now, for eternity, he can be truly happy and able to pursue whatever dream he wants with no obstacles in the way.

John David Coppick is survived by his three sons, Joseph Michael Coppick, Nicholas Starzynski Coppick, and Chris Aaron Coppick; Lori, a very close companion and partner who he spent most of his time with for the last several years of his life; and William C. Riley, a very close friend who was like a brother and an uncle to his sons.

Cremation has taken place and a small private service will be held for family and close friends at a time and place to be decided.

“Rest in Peace Dad. We will miss you forever.” – Your sons

"event_title1":"","event_date1":"","start_time1":"","end_time1":"","location1":"","address1":"","city1":"","state1":"","zipcode1":"","event_title2":"","event_date2":"","start_time2":"","end_time2":"","location2":"","address2":"","city2":"","state2":"","zipcode2":"","event_title3":"","event_date3":"","start_time3":"","end_time3":"","location3":"","address3":"","city3":"","state3":"","zipcode3":"","event_title4":"","event_date4":"","start_time4":"","end_time4":"","location4":"","address4":"","city4":"","state4":"","zipcode4":"","event_title5":"","event_date5":"","start_time5":"","end_time5":"","location5":"","address5":"","city5":"","state5":"","zipcode5":"","event_title6":"
","start_time6":"","end_time6":"","location6":"","address6":"","city6":"","state6":"","zipcode6":"","event_title7":"","event_date7":"","start_time7":"","end_time7":"","location7":"","address7":"","city7":"","state7":"","zipcode7":"","event_title8":"","event_date8":"","start_time8":"","end_time8":"","location8":"","address8":"","city8":"","state8":"","zipcode8":"
["GET
