{"id":32693,"date":"2026-02-21T09:50:58","date_gmt":"2026-02-21T16:50:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/helenafuneralhome.com\/?post_type=case&#038;p=32693"},"modified":"2026-02-21T09:50:58","modified_gmt":"2026-02-21T16:50:58","slug":"melody-ann-rominger-sawyer-age-63-of-helena","status":"publish","type":"case","link":"https:\/\/helenafuneralhome.com\/obituaries\/melody-ann-rominger-sawyer-age-63-of-helena\/","title":{"rendered":"Melody Ann (Rominger) Sawyer, age 63, of Helena"},"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","template":"","class_list":{"0":"post-32693","1":"case","2":"type-case","3":"status-publish","5":"entry","6":"has-post-thumbnail"},"acf":[],"fields":{"first_name":"Melody","middle_name":"Ann (Rominger)","last_name":"Sawyer","date_born":"04\/21\/1962","date_died":"02\/17\/2026","age":"63","city":"Helena","state":"Montana","full_obituary_text":"<p>Melody Ann (Rominger) Sawyer 63<\/p>\n<p>On the morning of February 17<sup>th,<\/sup>\u00a0Melody passed away at Elkhorn Health and Rehabilitation in Clancy, MT from complications of dementia,\u00a0stroke\u00a0and other health challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Melody was born April 21<sup>st<\/sup>,\u00a01962,\u00a0in Havre,\u00a0MT; she\u00a0was the\u00a0fourth\u00a0child and\u00a0third\u00a0daughter of Barbara Williams and Gordon Rominger.\u00a0A beautiful blue eyed red head.<\/p>\n<p>Despite her Down Syndrome\u00a0she managed an education and received a Havre High School diploma.\u00a0She enjoyed participating in the Montana Special Olympics, even making a trip to New York to compete in gymnastics;\u00a0she was very flexible.\u00a0She loved 60\u2019s\u00a0and 70\u2019s\u00a0music and television, especially the Osmonds traveling to Salt Lake and Billings to see them\u00a0at\u00a0concerts.<\/p>\n<p>After high school she moved to Helena, MT and became involved with Spring Meadow\u00a0Resources first in a group home but eventually independent living.<\/p>\n<p>She had several jobs in Helena boxing groceries, Helena Industries\u00a0(manufacturing backpacks)\u00a0and busing tables at McDonalds. Her happy attitude and\u00a0outgoing\u00a0personality made her a favorite among customers and employers;\u00a0a distinction she enjoyed her entire life. She was\u00a0very easy\u00a0to\u00a0get along\u00a0with and help.<\/p>\n<p>On November 23<sup>rd<\/sup>, 1996, Melody married the love of her life Karl Sawyer. She and Karl could be seen walking everywhere in Helena as neither drove. They spent 22 years together until his death.
