Pearl May Gabrielson went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2012. She left this world as she lived it, in a quiet peaceful manner at her home.<\/p>\n
Pearl was born on September 23, 1913 near Platte, South Dakota.\u00a0 She spent her childhood on a farm in this area and also near Wanblee, South Dakota.\u00a0\u00a0 She graduated from Wanblee High School in 1930.<\/p>\n
On June 30, 1930, she married Andrew G. Gabrielson.\u00a0 They resided in South Dakota where they farmed and had their first child, Lawrence Earl, in August of 1931.\u00a0 In the fall of 1933, in the midst of the depression, they moved north of the Minneapolis area.\u00a0 Here they farmed, logged, and in May of 1942 had their second child, Anna May.\u00a0 In 1943, they moved into the city and both began working in the factories supporting the war efforts.\u00a0 In 1944 they moved to northeastern Montana where they farmed until Andrew died unexpectedly in 1968.<\/p>\n
After losing her beloved husband, Pearl returned to school and attended Williston State College to earn her associates degree.\u00a0 She returned to her home in Poplar and worked at the bank until she left the area with her daughter and son-in-law in 1990.\u00a0 Pearl returned to Montana in 1993 with her daughter and family and resided in Helena until her death.<\/p>\n
Pearl was a long time member of the New Life Luthern Church and a regular attendee at the senior center.\u00a0 She enjoyed both playing and teaching whist.\u00a0 She was also an avid quilter and gardener.\u00a0 She also enjoyed being a part of the \u201cRed Hat\u201d society.<\/p>\n
She is survived by one daughter, Anna May Boyd, Helena, MT; her daughter-in-law, Lenore Gabrielson, Dallas, GA; thirteen grandchildren, Kathern (Roy) Upchurch, Effingham, IL; Steven (Debbie) Gabrielson, Chillocothe, MO; Mary Ann (Richard) Brewer, St. Louis, MO; Teresa (Dennis) Beckel , Chillocothe, MO; Robert (Debbie) Gabrielson, Loveland, CO; Jean Sanchez, Chillocothe, MO; Dianna Gabrielson (Robert), Tuscon, AZ; Larry Gabrielson, Pamela (Kenneth) Fredericks, Halliday, ND; Wendie (John) Fredericks, Mandan, ND; Laurell (Kevin) Asay, Helena, MT; Melissa (Ricky) Lopez, Helena, MT; Andrew (Destiny) Boyd; Helena, MT; and twenty seven great-grandchildren and twenty three great-great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n
She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew, her son Earl, her two son\u2019s-in-law Richard & Daryl , her grandson Kevin, her great-grandson Corde<\/p>\n
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, December 21 st at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N.
