Barker and Nellie Irene (Cramer) Barker.\u00a0 Mom died peacefully\u00a0at home on January 3, 2026, surrounded by family.<\/p>\n<p>Mom lived her entire life in Helena.\u00a0\u00a0Mom attended the original Central Elementary School and graduated from Helena High School.<\/p>\n<p>While in high school, mom worked at the RB Drive In as a carhop.\u00a0\u00a0It was there that she met the love of her life, Raymond Hohn.\u00a0\u00a0They were married in Helena on November 30, 1952.\u00a0\u00a0Ray was drafted into the U.S. Army and was stationed in Etain, France.\u00a0\u00a0Dodie joined him there in 1955.\u00a0\u00a0While there, Mom became a member of the Catholic Church and remained in the Church until her death.\u00a0\u00a0Their first daughter, Cheryl, was born while they were in France.\u00a0\u00a0They returned to Helena after Ray was discharged and soon two more girls, Susan and Kathy, joined the family.\u00a0\u00a0Dodie was the ultimate stay-at-home mom.\u00a0\u00a0Mom was involved in every activity with the girls.\u00a0\u00a0She made sure they took lessons and learned to swim, even\u00a0tho\u00a0she did not particularly like the water and could not\u00a0swim\u00a0herself.\u00a0\u00a0Mom served on the PTA for many years at Kessler School while the girls attended elementary school.\u00a0\u00a0Mom was a Bluebird leader, a 4-H leader, a religious education leader\u00a0and\u00a0 belonged\u00a0to Extension Homemakers and Junior\u00a0HiLo\u00a0club.<\/p>\n<p>The family spent many summers camping, fishing,\u00a0swimming\u00a0and boating at Canyon Ferry Lake and Seeley Lake.\u00a0\u00a0One summer the family vacation was a trip to Disneyland, pulling the camp trailer the whole distance.\u00a0\u00a0The highlight was when Dodie and Ray were dancing on the Lawrence Welk show while the family watched a\u00a0taping\u00a0and that show was later played on TV.<\/p>\n<p>Dodie worked for twenty-four years for the school district of Helena, retiring as the payroll clerk in\u00a0June,\u00a01994.\u00a0\u00a0After retirement, Ray and Dodie\u00a0did a lot of traveling.\u00a0\u00a0They attended the Hostfest in Minot, North Dakota for many years and the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas every year for over ten years.\u00a0\u00a0They pulled their trailer to Alaska and toured for an extended time.\u00a0\u00a0They also enjoyed many cruises and made many lifelong friends on the cruises.\u00a0\u00a0Ray and Dodie traveled many weekends to watch daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren\u00a0participate\u00a0in a variety of sports and activities.\u00a0\u00a0They were the best cheerleaders!<\/p>\n<p>After Ray\u2019s death in 2014, Dodie remained independent in the family home and still stayed active with her friends and card groups.\u00a0\u00a0Mom was active with her\u00a0Junior\u00a0HiLo\u00a0group,\u00a0 women\u00a0who have been friends since childhood (Frannie, Janie, Helen,\u00a0Janet\u00a0and Carolyn).<\/p>\n<p>Mom was predeceased by her husband Ray, her parents Fred and Nellie Barker, Ray\u2019s parents Jake and Alma Hohn, her sister Joan Anders and her nephew, Jay Anders.\u00a0\u00a0Survivors include her daughter Cheryl (Frank) Boucher of Great Falls, their son Seth (Rebecca) and children Brian and Anna; their daughter Rebekah (Ryan) Anderson and son Ethan; daughter Susan (Wayne) Noem of Helena and their son Matthew (Erynn) and sons Tavin and Tyce; their daughter Myriah (Tobin) Tollett and sons Christopher and Parker; daughter\u00a0Kathy Hohn (Chummer Matilla) of Helena, her son Jeffrey (Jennifer) DeMers and daughter Breanna, sons Jacob and James; her daughter Hillary (Jason) Hock and sons Jayden and Riley, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.<\/p>\n<p>Mom was very respected and loved by a lot of people but none more than her family, who will miss her greatly but know that she is in heaven with dad and they are dancing time away until we can join them in the two-step.<\/p>\n<p>Donations can be made to the charity of your choice, if you so desire.\u00a0\u00a0Public viewing will be from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13 at the Anderson Stevenson Wilke funeral home.\u00a0\u00a0Vigil service will begin at 6:00 p.m. on January 13.\u00a0\u00a0Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, January 14 at noon at Sts.
