Claire Ione Reames Wall of Helena, after 101 years on this earth went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 27, 2011 at. Claire passed away peacefully at her Son Heaven Assisted Living home, she had pneumonia. Claire was born November 18, 1909 in Faith, South Dakota to Eddie O. and Myrtle Reames. She graduated from Broadwater High School in 1927. She was married to the late Carl Wall of Bozeman. They were married in Townsend October 23, 1929.<\/p>\n
Claire was loved by all who knew her. She was kind and thoughtful and a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and even great, great grandmother. She was active all her life and made life interesting and fun. She played jokes on her family, took us places of interest and created an atmosphere that made all feel welcome and loved. The last 11 years she has lived at Son Heaven and the care givers there have loved her as their own grandmother and she loved them. She was honest and faithful and liked things her way, but was gladly accommodated. She outlived her sisters and most of her friends and yet made new friends. She will be missed by many and we will remember her for her sincere love for all of us. She loved her Lord most of all and is with Him now for all eternity.<\/p>\n
Claire started working very young, her first job was babysitting for 25 cents an hour. She worked on a farm cooking the meals and watched after a couple little boys while the mother worked in the field. For a number of years, she lived with and worked for the Hardy family. Mrs. Hardy was a wonderful housekeeper, cook and seamstress and taught Claire well.<\/p>\n
Claire and Carl lived in Bozeman for many years and they kept active with church, Eastern Star, playing cards and traveling in the later years. While living in Bozeman, Claire was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon. She later became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Helena and attended regularly. Claire volunteered at St. Peter\u2019s Hospital for 12 years. She was a life member of the Bozeman Lily of the Valley Eastern Star Chapter.<\/p>\n
Claire is preceded in death by her husband Carl (1984) and her son Richard (Dick) Wall (2010). She leaves her son Don Wall (Lin) of Eugene Oregon, daughter-in-law Earlene Wall, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.<\/p>\n
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Helena or Bozeman, Son Heaven Assisted Living of Helena or a charity of donor\u2019s choice.
\nCremation has taken place, a Memorial Service will be held the later part of April, notification will be made. . Retz Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
