He was born on January 29, 1927 to Iver and Ann Randall in St Paul, Minnesota. As a child he grew up in Woodville, Wisconsin. He then joined the Army and served in Germany and France during World War II. After completion of his military duty, he finished his education in Minneapolis. His first job brought him to Montana where he worked at KOJM in Havre as an engineer, and periodically even filling in on the radio shows. It was in Havre where he met Betty. He then went on to work at Mountain Bell for the next 33 years. His work led him to Miles City, Billings and eventually Helena where the family lived for 42 years. Wayne and Betty had three children.

Wayne was an avid carpenter and after his retirement he built a home at Seeley Lake, MT. He took great pride in assisting to build his two daughters homes in Helena and also built and assisted with many other homes and projects for friends and at his church. He enjoyed playing poker with the fellas and meeting with other friends for breakfast monthly. Wayne’s dry sense of humor amused us all. Most of all, he enjoyed being around ‘his people.’

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Iver and Ann Randall. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty; son, Bill (Pam) Randall of Billings; daughters, Suzie (Dave) Shute and Cindy (Dan) Backeberg both of Helena; as well as his grandkids, Danny Shute, Luke Olaf and Nikki Backeberg. He is also survived by his two brothers, Roger (Audrey) Randall and Dave (Pat) Randall both of Wisconsin, along with several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for Wayne 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N.
