In Memory Of

Jason Joseph Sims, age 49, of Billings

February 29, 1976 – August 25, 2025

Jason Joseph Sims, age 49, of Billings passed away August 25, 2025.

Jason was born February 29, 1976 to David and Melanie Sims on a cold February day that only comes every four years.

Jason was the youngest of their two sons. His brother David was not only his brother, but his best friend. When the boys were younger and together, they could be quite mischievous, keeping mom and dad on their toes doing what little boys do best.

Jason loved vehicles. When he was younger, he would travel statewide competing with his remote-controlled cars earning recognition and many trophies. Another passion he had was cooking. Mom and dad realized this and at a tender age of 4 or 5 bought him his first easy bake oven. Later years he mastered the grill and smoker.

Jason excelled at martial arts, earning him a black belt in Tae Kwando and Judo. Because of his achievements, he became a teacher at Dae Myung martial arts. Jason was also gifted when it came to vehicle restoration and chose it to make it his forever job. Because of his talent his work was featured in several of ‘The Vette’ magazines.

At 15 years old, Jason met and fell in love with Jo Lynn Elliot. Later, they had 3 sons together: Skyler, Stryker, and Rowdy. These were the happiest days and memories of his life. The boys loved watching their dad at work, especially the period when he was working on ‘The Batmobile.’

Jason loved the outdoors and was always on the lookout for new caves to explore. Jo Lynn would need to accompany him on these ventures to hold onto the rope tied around his waist so she wouldn’t lose him to the darkness of the caves.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, David Lee Sims; and his grandfather, Joseph Bogard. He is survived by his sons Skyler, Stryker, and Rowdy; his mother Melanie Sims; his brother David Sims (Donnel); grandmother Dorothy Bogard; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

“Jason, we will all carry you in our hearts forever.”

“He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
