Two very unique individuals who never met a stranger.
Rest in peace.

I was blessed to have her presents at our family table for many Thanksgivings. Virgina’s wisdom was well embraced ,I pray that Our Lord will comfort her family and surround them with his everlasting love.

I enjoyed her humor and respected her intelligence. Virginia made Helena a better place and will be missed.

My mother was Virginia’s younger sister and our family grew up down in Mississippi, about as far from MT as can be. I still remember vividly as a youth flying cross country to Great Falls, then driving to Helena under inky black but starlit skies with a flat tire along the way. Much later, I met my wife Karen Duffy, “through” Virginia. Independently, we both were living in Seattle in the same apartment complex. I had a job with Boeing. Karen was out with her younger sister where they both worked near Seattle. I knew from the MT 5 license plate that someone from Helena also lived in the complex. Much to my surprise it was the two pretty girls in the unit below mine. As we met and talked, the a-ha moment was when we realized that the elegant woman who frequented the Montana Gallery & Book Shoppe was my Aunt Virginia. Frequent visits to Helena since then kept us abreast on Ward and Virginia’s world wide travels or meeting their international guests. My aunt remains an inspiration to me for all of her accomplishments and generosity.

She had such a great sense of humor, a hard worker. The last time I saw her was about a year ago at the funeral for my mother she looked frail but still had the determination that I remember, I am so sorry for your loss. She touched many people in her life. Rest in Peace Virginia

She would come by periodically to see how we had remodeled her house. She was a very interested and interesting woman. We are sorry for her passing.

A huge “upwardly mobile” step in my life and that of my family. When my mother moved to town to be near me, Virginia saw mutually beneficial opportunity and hired her as a live-in companion/caregiver on behalf of her elderly “boss” Bob Richardson. Virginia saw needs, and proceeded to try to see that they were met. Lovely, gracious, kind. Thank you Virginia.
