While scanning the internet in 2020 for people and events from my days at Redford High School in Detroit Michigan, I came across old yearbook photos. One from 1972 stood out and I saw you listed in a class photo and thought “I remember you!”. I believe we both went to Houghton Elementary School and Redford High in Detroit the same years. The 70’s were a wild and odd time in history!

Yet I now find that you have passed away, c2011. That was sad to read. And I thought if someone comes along years later and looks you up, I will be one person that can say I remember you – a quiet and good person!

To all reading this days, months or even years later, I believe it is important we remember people that were part of our past and to call them out and how we know them. Steve was a classmate and friend at different times in our school years.

Rest Steve!

He was always thinking of other people before himself, even my dog Tiffany. Steve ask every day “How’s Tiffy” and was always bring treats for her also. Steve will be very missed and was very loved by many.

I was very sad to learn of Steve’s accidental death. I worked with Steve for a year or more at the Goodwill store. Everyone liked him because he was so nice and his demeanor never changed from day to day. He was one quiet guy unless I got him started with a small conversation. He worked hard and tended to his own business. He was always so polite to me when I would go into the store to shop. If I was looking for something special he seemed to know just where to find it! There were a few times that I gave Steve a ride home from work. He never had much to say unless I again started the conversation. He seemed peaceful all of the time . I did ask him once how he ended up in Helena and he told me a friend encouraged him to come out west years ago. I will miss seeing him to say “Hi” when I go into store. ( He would always help me find stuffed toys for my pets in the store.) He will be terribly missed by all of the GW staff and all of their regular customers. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

He always had ideas to make the day brighter and loved to come up with ways to help others. Rest easy Steve, you have earned your place in heaven.

He was a great addition to our Helena Goodwill store. We so appreciate his years of dedication and service. He made the store a fun place for staff and customers.

My thoughts are with his family and the staff that worked closely with Steve.

I always appreciated his thank you cards he sent after he received his birthday card. He was very thoughtful.

Michelle

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

May your memory be eternal, Cousin.

Always a smile and a hello for his friends. He said little but he always knew what to say and how to say it. My friend Steve I will miss you very much.
