Virgil was a silent, strong one. Always there to lend a hand, no matter the job and he did it with a smile that went ear to ear.  I was lucky to have called him my father-in-law, even if it was only for a while, and I have many memories to cherish. I remember hunting trips, working on them Fords, harvesting the garden, Hamms beer, chasing them damn ducks around the yard and his face that beamed with pride and love at the mention or sight of his granddaughter Heather! He was stern, yet gentle and caring; strong, stubborn and silent, yet able to touch your heart and soul in a way that only he could.

He’s up above just a ‘crankin on a wrench and cussin at that old ford’…. I’ll miss ya Virg~

My Dad will be very missed from our family. If asked, he was always there for us… checking our vehicles, putting air in our tires, teaching us how to check the oil ect…. Dad love doing that with a little grin on his face.

I was the one kid that tested his and Moms patience. But we got through all of that, hopefully with a smile.

Dad, We will miss you when your looking out your den window at us before we would go home to Gt. Falls and your little wave. I know it was hard for you to say Love Ya but I could see it in your eyes and that’s why I would hug you first and say love ya. I know you are in a better place with no more pain. We will watch over Mom and each other until we see you again. You better of said Hi to T.J. for us… DAD LOVE YA AND MISS YA…..

I have a lot of great memories of Marv and I growing up on Custer and hanging around at each others house and watching and helping our dads work on their projects.
